At first, I didn"t think I could make it, but I decided to skip visiting Paris and drive another 230 km west to see the show in Landerneau. I"m glad I did; I really enjoyed it! Karen appeared with: James Mackintosh - drums; Donald Shaw - keyboards, accordion Ewen Vernal - bass James Grant - guitar special guest - Dan Ar Braz - guitar (he added a lot to the few songs he played on) As best as I could determine, here is the setlist: Gleann Baile chaoil Bonnie Jean "mouth music" Calbharaigh Luadh an Toraidh O nach eisdeadh tu"n sgeul le aire All the Flowers of the Bough Goodbye Phoebe "mouth music" Mi Le M"uilinn (With Dan Ar Braz) Crucan na bpaiste (w/Dan) Moonchild One More Chance "mouth music" There"s Always Sunday At the End of the Night Rithill Aill (w/Dan) I hope Karen and Capercaillie can make it to North America again before too long... Brian Dickson Monday 14th July 2008 Hi Karen So glad too see your coming back to Langholm (Scottish Borders) again on the 7th Sept, I"m sure it will be another great night at the Buccleuch Centre.Anyone needing tickets its 01387381196, (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm Sat 10-12noon Annabelle Saturday 12th July 2008 Hey Karen , saw you last thursday in Landerne , Brittany ( Kann al loar festival ) The show was awesome , however , just one negative thing to mention : most of us didn"t understand why you were talking in english ( between each song ) with no translations at all ! Most people in the audience didn"t understand the very interesting things you were saying ! but most of all , you were acting as if they did .......some people found it a bit " disrespectfull " ...a bit of paper with a few sentences translated into french would have pleased everybody ....Anyway , thanks for this fabulous show karen ! Annabelle Robert Whelan <whelanrobert@hotmail.com> Tuesday 8th July 2008 Tha mi airson a ràdh "Tapadh leibh" airson a h-uile h-òran a nì sibh anns a" Ghàidhlig. Lrd.Randolph Johnson <theshamroqdude@yahoo.com> Monday 30th June 2008 Hi Karen, I"ve heard of you before by way of the band Capercaille. Recently I heard on you tube you singing Iain Chill Chuaich. In truth I"ve never heard a song so amazingly beautiful that it brought tears to my eyes. I"m blown away at your voice. Its like listening to one of the angels in heaven"s angelic choir...WOW! You"re truly amazing! Geneviève Wednesday 18th June 2008 Hi Karen, I"ve discovered your magical voice about two years ago with Capercaillie and now with your solo albums. For me, not only your music touchs me because of it"s beauty but also because my of grandmother, who"s name was Isobel McIntyre, that came from the same region as a lot of your music. So it always feel to me as if I can hear a little bit of my ancestors in those songs, espescilly with "Chi mi bhuam", since my great grand father McIntyre was from Taynuilt as well. Thanks for your wonderful music, Geneviève Gagnon-Ellis Montréal, Québec graeme <big.graeme@talk21.com> Saturday 31st May 2008 Hi Just wanted to say on behalf of my fiance and I that we have been very touched by your rendition of Bonnie Jean from your album Time to fall and hoped to use it as the first dance at our wedding would there be any problems with us doing so? Graeme / Orla carol pawelczak <carolpaw@aol.com> Friday 9th May 2008 Hi Karen, I am the niece of the Murdo MacFarlane and recently came across your singing of Canan Nan Gaidheal on YouTube. It is always a thrill to come across one of Murdo"s works but it is even more exciting when it is someone with such a beautiful voice such as yours. I enjoyed it so much I was wondering if you have recorded anything more of his. I know the rest of my family here in the States would love to hear more. Any help you or anyone can give me would be really appreciated. Anders Oehlenschlager <slinger@post7.tele.dk> Tuesday 8th April 2008 Been following Capercaillie for almost 20 yrs now as I was introduced to your music at my first visit to Scotland in 1989. Being Danish and thus sharing some of the same cultural background and feeling kind of "next of kin" to the scots, I"ve since that, visited your magnificent country many times and am revisiting again in week 29 2008. I have however never had the priviledge to see you performe live. When I"m there - my second homecountry- I truely feel some of the spirit and emotions you express through your music and especially through your voice Karen. The voice of an angel...... When I do see and hear you performe live Karen, I can indeed prepare to die. Nothing"s above.... Sam Tuesday 1st April 2008 Hi Karen. Can you confirm if you have ever performed on stage with Sting during an Oscar ceremony? I have believed it to have been yourself, but have never been able to find any reference to it or the song that was performed. <<back | 1-10 | 11-20 | 21-30 | 31-40 | 41-50 | next>> |
